School Readiness

The Right To Education has dramatically increased enrollment in Primary schools, but that doesn’t solve the problem, as the majority of kids enrolled are not school ready including their parents. The successful transition of a child to a Primary school should be seen in the larger context of a child’s overall development in school life.

This program is for grade 1 kids who are not school ready yet or they lack the necessary age-appropriate skills for the school. This program will help the teacher to develop the necessary skills in kids to become school-ready and make their transition to the school environment smooth.

Leap

Learning Poverty learning poverty means being unable to read and understand a simple text by age 10.
Children haven’t achieved minimum learning proficiency.
Imagine being asked to read long paragraphs and tested on it without ever getting the chance to learn the alphabet; or having to solve mathematical equations, without knowing numbers. That is the struggle of millions of children in India every day. This is a key reason why nearly 40% of children drop out after primary grades.

Leap is a time-bound program with the sole focus on improving the foundational skills of students. This program is for classes 2,3,4 and 5. The focus of this program is kids to achieve a minimum amount of proficiency in Arithmetic and Language.

TIME fellowship

Apart from Schools and Anganwadis, there is another sector which is private tuition an unorganized sector. It has the potential to supplement the school system and also generate employment if organized. Most private tuitions are done by women in villages.

TIME: stands for ThinkZone India Micro-Entrepreneurs of Education. This is an education program run by trained community educators in their own villages. Under this program, women are identified and trained to run quality education programs for kids in their villages. These women are micro-entrepreneurs as they run their own centers driven by ThinkZone’s process, technology, and management tools. Local managers support fellows to implement process and provide mentoring

Home Based Learning

ThinkZone is building a community enhancement model via technology wherein low-income group families are engaged constantly via IVR based calls and an SMS based system to get regular DIY (Do-it-yourself) learning modules. These learning modules are usable by every parent – regardless of their literacy level or the type of mobile phone they can access, they can easily try this with their kids. These modules are completely user-friendly and are available in English, Hindi, and Odia.

Designed for children aged 3-10 years, this model has the same learning objectives as ThinkZone’s Early Childhood Education program and Primary Grade Education Program
