Rasmita Singh joined ThinkZone in 2020, during the pandemic. She started her journey with Thinkzone’s home-based learning programme, where she used to involve parents in their children’s education when the schools were closed. She now helps teachers in nearby Government Primary Schools to adopt play-based teaching strategies in classrooms.
A short gravel road leads to Rasmita’s house. The route becomes inaccessible during the rainy season due to mud and stagnant water. And it becomes increasingly difficult for her to leave the house at certain times. Only a few bricks remain as a route from home. Still, Rasmita attends school despite the challenges of commuting. She has never missed a single day to date. Interestingly, children who did not come to school during the rainy season due to the difficult road have begun coming with her. On her way to school, she always picks up the kids to school. She says,“Because of bad commute, we face several problems, but children shouldn’t be deprived of education. I will ensure that every child is educated”.
