Saurav Mandal is a primary school student. He used to be inattentive in the classroom. He would not pay attention to his studies and would disrupt the class with his silly antics. His teachers and parents were very worried about his behavior and his studies. Our educator Rina also observed the same behavior and tried every conventional method to discipline him, yet she couldn’t find any improvement in his behavior or studies. Adopting a different approach, she started interacting with Saurav personally, and asked in detail about his family and friends, his favorite hobby, what he wants to be in the future, etc. To her surprise, Saurav shared that he could not become friends with his classmates, and he did not find interest in his studies.
Rina reassured him that they can become good friends and work together to improve his studies. From that day forward, she took extra time to help Saurav with his studies and explain things in a manner that he would understand the concept. She assigned him fun activities that can be done at home, so that he doesn’t feel any burden while completing his homework. She also encouraged his parents to participate in his studies. Apart from this, she made sure that Saurav’s classmates would call him regularly for participating in group activities. Rina was overwhelmed with emotion seeing Saurav secure good marks in the mid-line assessment and had also made friends in his class. Now Saurav has made so many friends in school and is now more attentive and focused on his studies.
