Jagannath: The Journey from the Backbench to Morning Assembly

Jagannath is a good-natured kid. But in school, he hesitated to talk with his friends nor did he spend much time with them. He used to sit on the back bench alone.

One of our educators observed that Jagannath is very good at telling stories with proper voice modulation. She tried to understand the problem he was facing which involved connecting with his peers and teachers. So, she started involving him in group and pair activities. Also, requested teachers to allow Jagannath to read the newspaper during the morning assembly.

To the teacher’s surprise, Jagannath read the paper very proficiently and clearly. Afterwards, every day Jagannath reads the newspaper during assembly time. And this has become his favorite thing to do in the school. Not only this, Jagannath is now the monitor of his class and has been sitting and getting involved with his peers.
