EVENTS IN URBAN SETTINGS

We organized events in low-resource settings in urban areas. The idea behind these events is to create awareness of the role and importance of parents in children’s learning and how parents can effectively contribute to a child’s learning and development at an early age. In the event, we also discussed the different ways parents can support children in learning at home.

LEARNING ENGINEERING TOOLS COMPETITION AWARD

We are excited to announce that our low-tech innovation that empowers parents without smartphones to support their children’s learning was selected for Learning Engineering’s Tools Competition Award. ThinkZone’s home-based learning solution uses free, low-cost technological solutions to engage parents regardless of their education in their children’s learning journey.

“I believe that children are best learnt when they ask questions, which is why we need to encourage children to ask questions in class,” says Chabirani. She is one of our fellows who wanted to pursue her career as a teacher. Unfortunately, she couldn’t chase her dream because of family pressure and societal issues.
